Sudan: The Last of the Rhinos (BBC Two, 9pm)
A sad but important look at the fact that only one male northern white rhino exists on this planet. The rhino, named Sudan, is 43-years-old and survived in a zoo while the rest of his species were wiped out by aggressive poaching. This documentary reflects on mankind’s failures to protect wild animals. While only expected to live a few more years, Sudan now lives under guarded protection.
Argo (RTÉ One, 9.35pm)
Based on a daring and true story. Acting under the cover of a Hollywood producer scouting a location for a science fiction film, a CIA agent launches a dangerous operation to rescue six Americans in Tehran during the U.S. hostage crisis in Iran in 1980. Starring and directed by Ben Affleck.
Coronation Street: Rita and Me (TV3, 7pm)
Tonight in lieu of soaps, TV3 will be airing a documentary about beloved Coronation Street character Rita Tanner (played by Barbara Knox). The one hour special will feature interviews from past and present cast mates (including Mavis Wilton and Norris). Paul O’Grady makes an appearance to congratulate Barbara on five decades of service to Coronation Street which have been punctuated by countless memorable moments.
Everyone’s talking about… Children’s TV villain Robbie Rotten suffering with stage five cancer
Unfortunately, Stefán Karl Stefánsson who played Robbie Rotten in Lazy Town has been battling bile-duct cancer since last September. In an emotional Facebook post translated by the BBC (Stefán and his wife Steinunn are Icelandic), his wife shared that his life expectancy is significantly reduced as the disease appears to be incurable.
Fans have been sharing messages of support to his social media, where he has been documenting his fight with the disease.

2017 Fifa Confederations Cup: Portugal vs Chile (RTÉ 2, 6.30pm) Peter Collins, Didi Hamann and Richie Sadlier provide live coverage for tonight’s semi-final. Kick off is at 7pm with commentary from George Hamilton and Ronnie Whelan.
The Secrets of Sleep (More 4, 10pm) This documentary follows people as they try to overcome debilitating sleep disorders. After witnessing a traumatic accident ten years ago, Jess has been unable to sleep properly since. Mike wakes up in a panic several times a night. They seek solutions for their unfortunate circumstances.
World’s Most Extraordinary Homes (BBC Two, 7pm) Tonight the show looks at a very modern tree house, a home built like a skyscraper and a house built within an indigenous forest of native pohutukawa trees in New Zealand.
The Blacklist (Sky One, 9pm) Tonight marks the finale of this crime dramas fourth season. To make the most of it, they are offering a double bill that features Red putting a risky plan in motion to save both the task force and himself.
